GUN CHARGE BAIL

How much does bail cost in Sacramento for a gun charge?

Bail for assault with a firearm range from $50,000 all the way up to $70,000 if the assault was with a semi-automatic weapon. Shooting at a law enforcement officer or fireman could be $50,000 bail or $100,000 bail, based on the severity of the victim's injuries. Oddly, shooting a gun at an inhabited dwelling requires a $250,000 bond. Bail for weapons that are not firearms, such as a knife, hammer or baseball bat, is $25,000. Firearms charges are considered to be especially serious, so bond amounts are higher

Bail on a charge of carrying a concealed gun without a permit or possession of a loaded firearm typically costs $20,000 unless there are added enhancements. Other weapons charges include firing a gun from a motor vehicle at $250,000 bail and detonating a bomb with or without the intent to kill requires a $1,000,000 bail bond. At Atlantis Bail Bonds we can handle large bonds!

California State law specifies that "Any person who has been convicted of, or has an outstanding warrant for, a felony under the laws of the United States, the State of California, or any other state, government, or country, or who is addicted to the use of any narcotic drug, and who owns, purchases, receives, or has in possession or under custody or control any firearm is guilty of a felony." Penalties can be imprisonment in County jail for up to three years, and/or a maximum fine of $10,000.

The amount of bail required is set by a panel of judges and is clearly defined in the Sacramento County Bail Schedule.
